The Need for Psychometric Assessment
Success begins with self-awareness
Gain personal insight with psychometric tools
Issue 01/07, August 2007
Learning becomes real for people when it begins where they are now. Only when you accurately measure a person or group’s tendencies as a whole, then can you begin to manage those tendencies effectively.
The steps toward personal insight are:
1. Measure and assess
2. Study the feedback
3. Create personalized plans for action via workshops, team sessions, retreats, individual coaching
4. Supply an environment that encourages and allows positive change
5. Evaluate successes and develop additional plans of positive action
The true essence of DiSC is learning about behavioral diversity and Emotional Intelligence. Individuals can learn to adapt their behavior, and move from judging those who are different from themselves to honoring, valuing and respecting others. It is practicing the 3 As (Aware, Accept & Adapt).
Being aware is to understand why and how you affect other people the way you do, and why other people affect you the way they do.
Accepting is to develop a positive attitude about yourself including the strengths and weaknesses which cause others to trust and to have confidence in you.
To adapt is to develop the ability to study situations and people and to adapt through application of appropriate behavioral strategies.
